EV Case Study: Richmond Office Building

Installation of a Level 2 dual charger at a 2-storey office building in Richmond, BC

EV Case Study: Richmond Office Building

Problem

In late 2023, one of our property management clients reached out to our team to get more information on EV Charging for one of their properties in Richmond; a 2-storey Office building. The project had a tight timeline due to contractual obligations, so it was important that we assembled the right team for the job.

After discussing their budget and general requirements, we found the right contractors who we knew would get the job done under a tight timeline, and made our recommendation for an EV charger that would be most suitable for the property.

Solution

Based on the size of the property, number of tenants and demand, we recommended installing a Level 2 ChargePoint CT4021 dual charger, for fast and convenient on-site charging.

We worked alongside Signature Site Services, who handled the full installation of the EV Charger. They also handled some site clean-up as well.

The property thankfully had enough power on-site already, but we also enlisted the help of an electrical contractor to make some adjustments to electrical pad, as it needed to be moved a few feet over. This involved having to go underground to put in a termination box and extend it by a few feet, then stub it up again.

Even with inclement winter weather, we were able to complete the install safely and within a timely manner by the middle of January.
