The accredited 317-bed personal care home, owned and operated by the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate, welcomed the opportunity to explore new lighting incentives. Keith reached out to their Property Manager to discuss potential needs and opportunities, sparking a productive collaboration.
Holy Family Home provides not only health care services but also programs that support the physical, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of its residents—many of whom come from Ukrainian and Slavic communities. Outdated lighting had begun to affect both the comfort of residents and the efficiency of staff.
The project started with upgrades in the service areas, where the Property Manager himself struggled to work under old fixtures. Once those improvements were made, the results were so noticeable that the Management Team approved a much larger initiative: refreshing the resident rooms, common areas, and hallways across the home.
Why Holy Family Chose CLP
For the Property Manager and his team, the decision came down to personal and tailored service. Keith visited the site multiple times to ensure every fixture was the right fit. He provided consultation and support at every step, always balancing budget and installation simplicity. Since the in-house maintenance man, who was also an electrician, was unable to dedicate all his time to such a large project, Keith focused on solutions that were economical, practical, and easy to install.
The Challenges
Upgrading the residence came with unique hurdles:
- Bedrooms had only a single wall-mounted fixture that needed to light the entire room
- Dining room fixtures required a swag plug-in
- Bathrooms had off-center hookups that made standard installations tricky
- Hallways were lined with outdated, dim sconces
The Solutions
Keith didn’t just recommend products — he partnered with the Holy Family Team to address each challenge. He brought samples to test on-site, shared specification sheets and installation guidance, and offered practical workarounds for unusual wiring and fixture placements.

The Results
The transformation has been remarkable. Holy Family Home now benefits from:
- Significant wattage reduction and long-term energy savings
- Substantial cost savings through Manitoba Incentives, with Keith streamlining the process for a hassle-free experience
- A cleaner, brighter, and more consistent look throughout the building
- A welcoming lobby with uniform color temperature
- Comfortable, well-lit common spaces, including a downstairs reading room that has become a favorite gathering place for residents
The upgrades went beyond just energy savings — they created a more comfortable and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors alike. For Holy Family Home, lighting became more than fixtures; it became a way to support care, dignity, and daily life.
